If you are somehow shocked to discover this, then you obviously don't know me well. I go from zero to completely obsessed in less than a minute. My latest obsession wabbles back and forth between Doctor Who and Steampunk Tinkering.
Somehow I'm fortunate enough to be able to write all the insanity off as "book research" as EXTRACTED is in fact a steampunk time travel novel. Besides that, working on Extracted and Oblivion, getting the kiddlets through the summer break alive, dealing with Hubster's weird work schedule, and trying to preserve my geek time has me worn out. Seriously. I've never been so glad to see summer roll to an end. The remodel on my office is nearing completion, next week school starts back up, and in two short weeks the last bit of revisions on Extracted will be done. Also, This weekend is Gear Con (which I mentioned last post and have been looking forward to FOREVER) so with that behind me I can relax and just focus on the one project.
Yeah, right.
I hate boredom more than just about anything on earth. If I'm not running like a spider monkey on crack then I'm doing something wrong. Which leads me to wonder and speculate about just what will keep me hurling face first into fall. I'm not doing a big Halloween party this year so that's out. I'm not doing anymore Cons so there goes that. And as of this morning (and this could literally change at any second) I don't have my next book idea yet (though we do have an outline for the next book in the Extracted series).
Also, I'm told the release of the cover for EXTRACTED is just around the corner and for those of you keeping track, Grave Secrets, the new novel in my Palmetto Moon series, will be out soon too. You can be sure that both of these things will be shouted from the rooftops around here.
I suppose that's all for now. I'll bring lots of goodies back from Gear Con and pics too. See you next week!
